Pushing for a “Meanwhile Uses” planning policy

Cllr Matthew Sankey put forward a motion at the Full Council Meeting on 23rd February 2022 for the council to start working towards introducing a “Meanwhile Uses” planning policy that would give the council additional powers and levers to ensure empty buildings or derelict spaces are put to a temporary use for the community until development work starts.

The motion was supported by the majority of councillors: 37 voted for the motion, 8 abstained.
